Luke Combs named Songwriter/Artist of the Year & Tim McGraw on his pet peeve

The Nashville Songwriter Awards were at the Ryman last night. Song of the Year went to ‘Break Up in the End,’ recorded by Cole Swindell. Luke Combs was named Songwriter/Artist of the Year and George Strait got the White Hat Award for his services to the American songwriting community.

Tim McGraw says one of his pet peeves is going to a hotel gym and it’s so cold he has to wear a sweatshirt. At home Tim’s workout room is always between 100-105 degrees (37-40 Celsius). When Tim played a big festival last year, he looked to the side of the stage, Paul McCartney was there, singing every word. Tim said it made his night to see that Paul actually knew the words to his song.

Carrie Underwood’s husband Mike says there’s one thing he could improve on in their marriage; communicating better with Carrie. His dad was the strong silent type and Mike says he’s a little bit like that too.
