Garth wins cma Entertainer of the Year and looks like sugarland is back

At last night’s CMA Awards Chris Stapleton took home Male Vocalist and the Female Vocalist was Miranda Lambert. Garth was Entertainer of the Year but after he performed Twitter lit up that he was lip-syncing. Garth admitted it was true saying, “we’re in the middle of 12 shows in 10 days. The voice just isn’t there and you want to represent country as best you can.”

The tribute to Troy Gentry had Eddie Montgomery performing ‘My Town’ with Dierks Bentley and Rascal Flatts. As they sang, photos of Troy flashed behind them and many in the audience including his widow were crying. Montgomery Gentry's final album will be released in February.

Presenters for Vocal Duo of the Year weren’t intro’d as Jennifer Nettles and Christian Bush but as Sugarland. It was in 2012 that they took a hiatus and Jennifer hinted last night they may be getting back together. Seconds after presenting the award they created a new Instagram account.

In his acceptance speech, New Artist winner Jon Pardi thanked his friends and family who growing up watched him play backyards, hometown dive bars and fairs. He’s come a long way.

Finally – for those counting I believe Carrie Underwood had a record 11 outfit changes.
