Jason Aldean is lucky to be alive and Luke Bryan confirms he will be a judge on Idol

Jason Aldean closed the Route 91 Harvest Festival last night in Las Vegas when a 64-year-old gunman from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel started shooting an automatic weapon. Over 50 are dead and 200 plus injured. Jason was the last act on stage when the shots started flying and he like many thought it was fireworks so Jason kept singing but once he realized it was a gun, he ripped off his guitar and bolted off stage. Chris Young tweeted, “spent I don't know how long on the floor of a trailer behind the stage listening to that gunfire.” Jake Owen was on right before Jason and said you couldn’t tell where it was coming from. The shots were ringing off of the stage rigging and road cases and tour buses were hit as well. The acts that played last night are still there, on their buses, on lock down as it’s still an active crime scene and police are still investigating. This is now the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.

Luke Bryan confirmed this weekend he will be a judge on American Idol next year. He’ll join Katy Perry and his hero Lionel Richie. The new judge’s panel will be on Good Morning America Wednesday.

Finally - the first book in Garth’s 5-part autobiography is out November 14 and tonight he’ll reveal more live on Facebook at 7 PM ET.
