Thonas Rhett's in the studio and Brett Young's on TV today
Thomas Rhett’s currently working on his third album. Growing up he played in rock bands but says country’s always been his first love because of the storytelling aspect. As for the fashion part, he remembers his dad Rhett Akins jeans were so starched they could literally stand up on their own. Thomas wears sneakers instead of boots because he dances a lot on stage and one day he says he’ll open a high end sneaker shop in Nashville.
Chris Janson’s in the studio working on a new record and he’ll also be on the road this year with Sam Hunt. Chris says his show’s a mixture of Guns N' Roses, Merle Haggard, the Ramones and Hank Jr.
Newcomer Brett Young performs on the Hallmark Channel’s, Home & Family today. He’s from California and was going to be a baseball pitcher and even got offers from pro teams but after several injuries he took up songwriting and eventually moved to Nashville. He got a record deal in less than a year. As for being an opener on several tours in 2017, Brett says, “a concert’s like speed dating. I’ve got 25 minutes to make you want to see me again."
Finally - Lady Antebellum will reveal select ACM nominees tomorrow on CBS This Morning.
