Sunday’s ACM awards will have some interesting duets; Miranda Lambert and Keith Urban will join with ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons. Kelsea Ballerini will duet with pop star Nick Jonas and Dolly Parton will sing with Katy Perry. Dierks Bentley has New Orleans musician Trombone Shorty on his upcoming album ‘Black’ and I’m pretty sure they’ll have an ACM collaboration. Even tho Garth plays in Ottawa Sunday night, producers say he’s part of the show but we’re not sure how.
Carrie Underwood’s concert rider includes a back-stage organic vegetable tray, sugar-free Extra gum, peppermint Altoids and most importantly; Carrie must have a well sanitized restroom.
Kelsea Ballerini opens for Rascal Flatts this summer and says, “they’re my entire memory and culture of country music. They’ve stayed relevant through the years & to be able to share a stage with them is so exciting.” She better be careful tho; remember when Eric Church opened for Rascal Flatts and they kicked him off the tour for playing too long and getting to close to the fans.
Thomas Rhett is 26 today.
Finally - Dierks Bentley says his 2-year-old son Knox is “a little mini-me. He loves airplanes, hockey, fishing; any sport. He is going to be my ticket to do a lot of fun stuff.”

Not long ago, Luke Bryan’s label hired professional pranksters, Roman Atwood and Dennis Roady to prank him at one of his shows. They acted like fans at a meet and greet but kept telling him that his song, ‘Thunder Rolls’ was a favorite. I guess Luke got so mad, he just storming off.

Gary from Rascal Flatts says years ago, a Nashville DJ played, ‘I'm Moving On,’ because he liked it even tho it was never intended to be a single. Well that morning some guy driving to work was thinking about committing suicide instead and when he heard, ‘I’m Moving On,’ it changed his mind and saved his life.

‘Dierks Bentley: Every Mile a Memory’ is at The Country Music Hall of Fame thru Sept. 6. It includes the floral shirt he wore when he signed his record deal, an eighth grade class picture with he and his wife Cassidy and a drawing he did at six charting his plan to be a rock star. Dierks says, “I’m a geek about country music and I especially love the history.”
After a show, as per his concert rider, Blake Shelton has a Pizza Hut Stuffed Crust Supreme.
Carrie Underwood says cutting her hair shorter recently was a ‘mom move.’ It’s now easier to fix as she has to wash it every day and it gives her more time to be with her son Isaiah.
Finally - Keith Urban’s a health nut who’s banned butter from his dressing room. Also on his rider; his dressing room must have a case of ‘Select a Size’ paper towels.
